Energy balance for Zagreb county

In accordance with the Energy Act and the Regulations on Energy Balance, counties in the Republic of Croatia are obliged to provide energy consumption data to the Ministry responsible for energy in order to determine the total energy needs at the national level. In order to be able to systematically monitor energy situation at county level, Energy balance for Zagreb County is currently in the process of drafting.

Project goals:

• Systematic monitoring of the energy situation at the County level;
• Planning of future energy consumption in the County;
• Analysis of primary energy supply, energy import and export;
• Analysis of final energy consumption by sectors;
• Decreasing dependence on imported energy sources and analysis of the possibilities of using local resources for energy production.

Activities within the project:

• Review and assessment of production and final energy consumption in the Zagreb County by individual sectors of consumption, taking into account energy production from renewable energy sources;
• Drafting of the final energy balance for 2009;
• Forecast of energy consumption for 2011 by individual sectors;
• Development of planned energy balance for 2011;
• Assessing of the local energy sources utilization possibilities.
