About us
The Agency's mission is the promotion and encouragement of regional sustainable development in the fields of energy and environmental protection through renewable energy sources (RES) utilization and energy efficiency measures implementation.
The Agency’s vision is the establishment of the network of energy and ecology rational towns and counties of North-west Croatia that will establish the structure for successful regional development based on sustainability principles as imperative of economy development of European regions of 21st century.
The main services provided by North-west Croatia Agency are the following:
- Information, advising and education regarding energy issues;
- Support for the realization of local and regional energy plans;
- Energy audits for public and private buildings;
- Public awareness activities in the fields of energy and environmental protection;
- Insurance of national and international financial mechanisms for projects and activities.

B.Sc., M.Sc and Ph. D. recieved at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb.From 1997 to 2007 employed at the Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar as Deputy Head of Department for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. Mr.sc. Vesna Kolega – Expert Adviser
Obtained B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb in 1991 and 1998 respectively. Before joining North-west Croatia Energy Agency she used to work in Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar from its establishment in 1994. Mr.sc. Velimir Šegon – Expert Adviser
B.Sc. and M.Sc in power systems recieved at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. From 1997 to end of 2002 worked as a junior researcher at the Department of Power Systems of the Faculty, his work was related to safety analysis of nuclear power plants. From January 2003 to April 2008 worked as a senior researcher at the Energy Institute Hrvoje Pozar in the implementation of various national and international projects related to the utilisation of renewable energy sources and specifically biomass. Tijana Savić, oec.- Expert Associate
Born in Velika Gorica where finished secondary school. Graduated in the field of Business Economy on Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb in 2005. After graduation, started work as administrator dealing with management and up-dating of data basis. From May 2006 until May 2008 used to work as brand manager. In the Agency is handeling bussines related to economic analyses of investment studies and organization of corporate events. At the moment attending Management of public institutions faculty.
Ivan Pržulj, dipl.ing. – Expert Associate
Finished secondary school in Zagreb in 2000. Graduated from the University of Zagreb with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in 2006. Also enrolled in and completed the business management curriculum at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing. From 2007 to 2008 worked as a project coordinator in field of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning in the firm Totić.
Sanda Djukic, dipl.ing. – Expert Associate
Born in Zagreb, where also finished primary and secondary school. Graduated in the field of Electrical Power Engineering on Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb in 2005. After finishing studies, started carier in INA - Naftaplin dealing with electricity consumption optimisation and losses analasys. From 2008 employed at the North-west Croatia Energy Agency. At the moment attending Master of Business Administration on Faculty of Economics & Business.
Miljenko Jagarčec, ing.- Expert Associate
Born in 1974 in Zagreb. Graduated 2001 on Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture.
Since 2000 untill april 2008 works in company Elcon d.d. on jobs ranging from Process engineer, Leader of Quality planning department, Quality manager and finally Technicall manager.
Since april 2008 works in company El-set d.o.o. as Executive manager.
Ivana Lončar, dipl.oec.- Expert Associate. Apprentice
Born in Bjelovar. Finished primary and secondary school in Zagreb. In 2009 graduated from the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Economics and Business, with a major in Macroeconomics. From 2007 till 2008 worked as an event organizer in shopping centre in Zagreb and its surroundings. In the Agency performs tasks related to economic and financial analysis of investment studies. At the moment attending Master of Financial Analysis at the Faculty of Economics & Business in Zagreb.
Ivan Kovačić, dipl.ing. – Expert Associate
Born in Zagreb where he finished elementary school and secondary technical school. Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Zagreb in 2007. After completing the studies he enrolled in the Business Management Programme at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Zagreb which he finshed in 2008. From November 2007 until June 2009 he was employed at the PASTOR ENGINEERING PLC, first as a design engineer, then as a project manager for the stable fire fighting protection systems in building construction, hotel trade and industry.
Ivana Marić –Office manager
Born in Zagreb at 1979 where she finished elementary and high school. After high school she was working at different domestic and foreign companies on working positions of business secretary and office manager among which we can mention Dvorzak pharmacy and Pharma investment where she worked as office manager.
Karlo Rajić, ing – Expert Associate
Graduated from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture at the University of Zagreb in 2002. Currently graduate of Polytechnic of Karlovac, college of mechanical engineering VII degree, course of energetics. From 2002 to 2005 worked as a manager of mechanization at complex construction sites in the company Hidroelektra niskogradnja d.d. From 2005 to 2008 worked as a quality manager and a production manager in the company Kontal d.o.o. From 2008 to 2009 worked as a manager of mechanization and transport at tunnel construction sites in the company Skladgradnja d.o.o.
Lovorka Petrović Jović, dipl.arh. – External Adviser
Born in 1970 in Zagreb, graduated at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Zagreb in 1996. In 2000 undertook the professional exam and became qualified architect and member of the Croatian Chamber of Architects and Construction Engineers. From 2000 to 2005 works in AMT Ltd. on developing and leading several major projects. Since 2005 works independently in DIAGONALA Ltd. Martina Šterc, dipl.ing.- External Adviser
Born in Zagreb. Graduated in 2002 on Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Zagreb. In 2005 made licencing exam and became qualified engineer of Civil Engineering and a member of the Croatian Chamber of Architects and Angineers. Since 2003 until 2008 has been working as head of construction and
control in the company Zagrebgradnja. Since 2008. works in the company ZEMnadzor d.o.o. as the main supervisory engineer.
